Activations

I was trying to use my Windows 8.1 machine as a primary, and the software errored. It says the software is activated on another machine.

 

Do I only get one primary machine? What if I dual boot? Does each OS need it's own seperate activation/purchase?

Red, I answered your ticket...  For the record, you would need to deactivate your Primary prior to promoting a Secondary (or making another a Primary).

OK, now what? I had to reinstall the OS where my primary was activated. Now I can't activate the primary. It tells me it's being used on another machine, again.

Come on guys, why does this have to be so hard?

I have been told that there is a site somewhere to deactivate a machine for that scenario, but off hand I do not know what it is.

If you mail support they should be able to help you out though.
