Frogboy, we have got to have autohide! Why hasn't this been added yet? That is the one feature it should have had since the beginning!

. Aafuss, as far as we're concerned, Win9x is dead. While we'll continue to support it in the apps we already support it on, new programs will focus on Win2K/XP.

BDP: Feel free to code your own dock. This is freeware. Jeff's doing this in his spare time for fun. It's not a product. It'll have the things that Jeff wants it to have in the order he wants to add it.

i don't know if win 9x is out, but is really a outmoded OS.
It crashes a lot, and it's very unusable, specially if you run a 'big' application as Internet Explorer.
WindowsXP don't have the success that it needs, because the vendors don't sell the new computers with it installed. Why? It's more 'economical' win98se (note: i not said winME). A small statistic: 4 friends have purchased new PC this last year, 3 with WIN98se installed (!) and without the original windows cdrom; the last, consulted me, and purchased (!) the winXP cdrom because the price of the new computer don't include any Windows CDrom.
WinXP cost around 55 euros. Any time i get petrol for my car, i spend 30 euros. Any computer needs some OS for run, and XP is the best for new users.

I'm really looking forward to this next version of ObjectDock. So, will there be a section added for uploads at this point? There should be, now that its more skinnable.

hrm. Only problem I see with a section is the fact that this app uses icons for the majority of its art. It will be another of those areas that people are constantly tying to upload stuff they didn't make. Icons are sadly 'free-use' in the minds of a lot of people. If the moderators don't mind it, it would be cool.

I'd be in favor of a section for ObjectDock.

Here's my view on it, without a major site moderating this stuff, authors aren't going to be protected and this in turn discourages them from creating more stuff.

That is true about the icons. But as long as the themes were moderated (as most everything currently is), it should work out ok. Look at the Icon Packager section. Not many problems there. It would be a shame to 'not' have a section just for that reason though. I can see so much potential for OjectDock themes. Even just having the dock background that matches the suite of the moment would be great. But good icon themer's could do some fantastic things with this.

ain't nothin like the real thing baby, ain't nothing like the real thing... (forgot who sings that song)
but I recently got a mac and that dock is really nice, took me some time getting used to it but I love the fact that the iTune icon sitting in the dock has the controls built right into it, so you can control your music w/o the player in the way.
anyways this looks great Brad, ppl will love this
/me goes to peek more at it's features

one thing the real Dock in mac os X don't have is that the clock don't keep real time unless you undock it to the dt, if you made a clock that worked in real time in the dock that would be cool.

Dor: most of us have had external media controls built into our taskbar, windows, and desktops for years

Dor: The clock in ObjectDock does keep real time.
