Well...that all looked like fun...and he 'was' such a nice person...lasted about a week...

The written word, defaming another individual or entity is called 'Libel'.
If such erroneous statements adversely impact upon the individual's or entity's reputation or livelihood/income then there's a case for punitive compensation.

It would have been nice if Massive had just said 'Help, I need to contact someone about an account charge that is wrong.'

He'd have it all sorted and he would still be here.
Instead, he's had it sorted but he ain't here any more...

Hum, makes me think though.
Nothing to do with this particular jerk who can't read his own bank statement, but if I complain about a company and lead a boycot campain or something, is it really diffamation?
Is it not my right to say my opinion on some bad companies?
I'm thinking specifically of a very very bad experience I had with a specific computer store. Bought two computers there, both had problems; I brought each of them about 7 or 8 times to get fied, and they were never completly fixed. Service was crap, and they always tried to accuse me of being at fault not their hardware.
Anyway. Ever since that day, I've made it my mission in life to tell everybody: don't buy from MicroBytes! (in Montreal, Canada)
Could I be sued for that? Although everything I'm saying is true?

Every computer store I ever dealt with and had a problem with acted as though I was an idiot and it couldn't possibly be something on their end!

Patric...the difference there is that everything you said was 'true' [as you mention].
It's a different thing to expose a 'bad' company with validating evidence, than to accuse someone wrongly and materially damage them in so-doing...

And paxx, you could also submit a complaint to the various Consumer Advocates in Canada. (Here is one example: http://www.consumer.ca/ ). These groups will post an alert and you will reach a larger audience. The more you reach, the better. You will help more people by teaching them to avoid this bad business and you might even inspire MicroBytes to clean up it's act.

][v][assive has been taken off exile. Our sales staff faxed him our transaction records, and he is now taking it up with his financial institution. Since he is a customer, he has been taken off exile so that he can retrieve skins and stuff.

Mr. ][v][assive, please don't do anything like this again, or you will be on permanent exile >

I think an apology is in order, when/if he can post on the messageboard.

I've been told by T-Man that he is no longer exiled (even though it still says "exiled" by his name). hard to say if he will post again or not

I hope things will clear up correctly. Stardock has some great programs. I can't say I always had good experiences with leading people here, but I guess that's vice versa. People sometimes explode on a whole variety on things. They regret it later. But remorse always comes after...I bet he'd be happy with the program
