Start8

To Use, Or Not To Use........

This is the question...

How can I disable Start8 without uninstalling it?

It doesn't seem possible, unless I miss something.

Please add the ability to turn off Start8 in the next update.

yeah.. stopping the service doesn't do it..

Stopping the service works for me. Actually I set the service to manual and reboot. Then when I want Start 8 I start it in services. Do it from control panel though.

If you want to unload Start8 briefly you can do so by running START8 UNLOAD from a command prompt, or by opening Start8Tweak and pressing the button.  To restart just run start8,exe again.

Thank you, sir!. There are times when I need it disabled as well so I can get Win8.1 back to as-supplied by MS for troubleshooting problems on rigs not so equipped.

Start8Tweak?  What/where is that?  Command Prompts....bah humbug.

I officially request an unload Start8 option in a future release?

I'd like to use Windows 8 the way MS intended, occasionally. Not to have to run a prompt every reboot...etc.

OK, I found Start8tweak, hidden in the Start8 directory, made a shortcut. Thanks Neil.

Your stuff IS a bit easier to read than Zubaz's, but Jim, he likes to have them small wurds in thar, along with some ya'lls and reckon's. It gits his attentions going and makes his Bessie time a lil less stressful. :)
