I just stumbled on this in yahoo news. MS is, according to the article, abandoning Windows 8.1 in favor of 8.1 Update 1. Where's the hammer!  XD

Flying in the face of such criticism will be the staunch devotees to all-things-Eight.

Boggles the mind ....;)

they did the same thing with XP. Once SP1 came out you had to update to it to get further updates, etc.. on and on up the chain.

But... that was ok because it didn't have the "8" in it huh...

Well, after several months of problems, and several total reinstalls,  I have had it.

As of last night I have gone back to Windows 7 and am giving up on dual boot scenarios.

I may run Windows 8.1 in a VM.

I have had to reinstall both of my rigs thrice over the last few days.  I dunno if it's the dual booting ot the UEFI or the SSDs or a combo of all that but I can't seem to get a backup to work even.

Guess I'll need to shoot an email to get my activations reset again.....aargh!!!

Jim,

With the resources you have on your machine, why do you feel a necessity to dual boot anything. You use vmware workstation so there really is none is there? PM coming at ya..
