Fences 2 - Disappointment!!

I just want to share that I am greatly disappointed than the new Fences. I purchased it over a year ago and since then I had to reinstall it 10 times. Once in a while I get an error message telling me something went wrong with fences and that it is recommended to reinstall. “Recommended”, HA! This is hardly a recommendation. A recommendation is when you actually have a choice. Fences just wouldn’t come up after that and only a complete reinstallation solves the issue, until the next time it occurs. I am tired of it!

This never happened when I used Fences1. I feel cheated. The program simply does not work properly.

 what OS are you running?  Have you checked to see if you are running the most current version or Fences?  Are you running any other software that manages the desktop Icons/Shortcuts?  When you uninstall and reinstall Fences are you also running a clean up program, something like CCleaner to make sure that all traces of the previous install of Fences are removed and then rebooting before reinstalling?  If you have done that then the best thing to do is send an email to the support folks at Stardock.    :sun:

Anne, sorry for your negative experience.

Before re-installing, did you use anything like CCleaner or Revo uninstaller to clean out any bits or pieces (like registry entries)?

Frequently that's all that's really needed (though I'm not a Support person).

Perhaps you should take this opportunity (bearing in mind it's Friday and you might not get an actual person answering until Monday or Tuesday) to write to Stardock Support ( [email protected] ).

Don't answer the 'auto-reply' as it will kick you to the back of the queue. Keep the reply as it has your ticket number.

Also, you might refer to this thread's url in your request for help.
