New Icons don't go in open area

from Stardock Forums

When I create a new file on my desktop the icon is not going in an "open" (unfenced) area of the screen. I have a lot of fences and this make it hard to find the new icons...

Is Fences set up to place new icons on the desktop?

Thanks Snowman. didn't know about that option (I don't use a lot of options obviously). It was correct but I used it to set an new place for files to go and that seems to be working.
