Fun Poll: How did you come up with your online name?

There's a story behind nearly every online name, what's yours?

I'm afraid my story is rather sad. (pitiful rather than unhappy)

Way back when, around 1994, I was getting an email address at the, then new, Hotmail Corporation. I looked high, I looked low, but for all my looking, I could not find an unnumbered UID. Someone even stole my name! At long last I gave up and started creating names based on my full name, and those were taken too! I finally has to settle on Jobeleca, pronounced Jo-Bel-a-KA, which stands for JOshua BEnjamin LEe CAldwell.

Cut and paste from my LiteSTEP 'Readmefirst.txt'...

"JAFO" is Airforce/Navy derogatory slang for an Observer [co-pilot].
[The movie "Blue Thunder" with Roy Scheider made reference to the term].

I've worked as an Observer[communications] Official at the Australian
Grand Prix for the past 23 years [and the 500 Motorcycle Grands Prix [MotoGP]], WTCC, World Superbikes, not to mention the first Nascar race outside the U.S., Truck racing, etc... hence the name.

BTW, JAFO = Just Another F**king Observer.
[People only ever seem to be aware of the Trackside Flag Marshals, and any
other Trackside Officials go un-noticed.]...

I had a small company that made Aluminium flight cases. I called it "BoXXi Flightcases". It looked good on the letterheads and was easy to remember.

Man, what a cool story!..............................Not.

It's the sound a silent but deadly fart makes....just kidding....jafa was already taken so I used a little known mongolian throat singer lyric that means 'the one who brings much pleasure to himself'....then I applied another little known aboriginal algorithm based on the mating call of the (also little known) striped wallabee/gopher. This resulted in truly un-spellable mish-mash of letters, that when translated to swahili produced the another un-spellable mish-mash of letters.....I got fed up at that point and ended up misspelling Jeff....I don't know anyone named Jeff so I stuck with peff.

Jafo it seems I owe you an apology, for my earlier typing error. I was really confused by all the amusement this generated. But this certainly explains it.

BTW, JAFO = Just Another F**king Observer.

That would of course translate to

JAFA = Just Another F**king A**. well you get the picture. sooo sorrieee

why did you star out the word "artist" in that last post?
I guess it would normally be Jafo and when he gets into one of his spelling kicks it would be Jafa

backwards it's spelled kirnik
forewards it's spelled kinrik

...almost one of those backward-spelled-same-as-foreward-thingies...

...but not quite...
