Not Seeing Win7-styled Explorer from Web "Save As"

Hi

I just purchased a new PC with Windows 8 and hated it after just 5 minutes!  I found Start8 and I LOVE it.

From the desktop, I have a Windows 7-like Explorer window, but if I right-click from Internet Explorer and select "save as", for example, I do not get a Windows 7-like Explorer window.  Rather, I get the Windows 8 file manager page, or whatever it's called.

Does Start8 have settings to fix this?  I can't seem to find anything, or possibly it may not be worded in a way that it's obvious.

Please let me know when you can.

Thanks!
Jim

It sounds like you might be using the modern UI (fullscreen) Internet explorer there.  The standard desktop one should have the usual save as dialog I would think.

I'm also using ModernMix on top of Start8.  Would I need to downgrade to a lower version of MSIE?  At work now on a Win7 box so I can't check what version of MSIE I have on the new PC.

Internet explorer has two modes, fullscreen Win8 style and the desktop mode.  It picks it based on where it was launched from.  Launched from the Windows 8 Start menu it will be in fullscreen mode, launched from Start8 it should be in desktop mode.

I'll check when I get home to see how the 2 modes are different.  Thanks, Neil.
