hybrid style (Windows 7 start menu combined with Windows 8 tiles)

a few days ago, I've found an interesting article about a windows 8 redesign/ concept, which also contains an interesting start menu:

This hybrid style (Windows 7 start menu combined with Windows 8 tiles) would be a great opportunity for start 8, because no other third party start menu has such a feature and it could be an advantage compared to a rumoured comeback of the Windows start menu in 8.2.

What do you think about this concept for start 8?
