Just wanted to add my own experience to those who cannot disable skin sounds.
Windows 8 basic x64 (.0), all updates installed.
object desktop subscription, windowblinds 8.02
the option in the wb settings doesn't work, if present the skin sounds are still used. i don't like the idea of borking a skin by removing the files even though it's wb's working copy that is affected, so i've edited the ini files and commented out the respective lines.
i don't mind doing that since there aren't that many skins that use sounds, but i shouldn't have to as the setting is there.
I've searched for related posts and found a few, so it's not only my installation that has this problem.
