The pioneering musician is dead at 71. The Velvet Underground star underwent a liver transplant earlier this year and has died of a liver-related ailment.

The very first live concert I ever attended as a kid was Lou Reed when he opened for Humble Pie in Cleveland ,Ohio
Such a great memory because he blew Humble Pie right out of the water. This really saddens me.
