1.3 Flag button gone?

Hi I just installed Start8 1.3 update.

1) First of all let me tell you that I find really annoying when a software install/update offers by default the installation of "any" other accompanying software different from the one I'm trying to install/update.

2) after the 1.3 update my Start logo (Flag) is gone, when I want to put it back it is not available anymore, when I tried downloading the one hosted here well it does not have hovering effects.
I hate when applications make changes on my desktop without having the chance to prevent them. Could you please guys tell me where I can find the Flag logo exactly as the one used up-to 1.20?

Thanks
Pat

Microsoft lawyers complained about the logo.

If you have an image you wish to use that's in the correct format, if you name it so the name ends _x1.png (say myimage_x1.png) and select that you should find Start8 adds in the mouseover and pressed states for you.

I see, understandable about the MS lawyers.

I do not have the image I want to use; I got used to the Flag; I want the Flag.

Can you tell me where is it located on 1.2 and what forma?

it doesn't matter if it is embedded on a binary or whatever; if you cannot publish it here please send the info (or the image) to my e-mail address.

Thanks for your support.

Thanks

Pat

The original button we used was a png resource in the Microsoft twinui.dll file but as stated before Microsoft were uncomfortable with it.

However we have created a tool which lets you create your own start button designs from any images you make yourself or have downloaded from the internet.  It even lets you pick some icons.  In the most minimal case you just need a single frame image which makes it even easier to make your own artwork either for your own use, or to share on the Wincustomize gallery.

It can be found here : https://forums.stardock.com/44917

I have been browsing million resources in twinui.dll and I couldn't find the right thing.

should I get an individual resource? should I make an stack of them? 1 resolution? more than one?

can you provide step-by-step instructions for getting or compiling the required resource able to be displayed correctly for big and small bar icons?

in your web site there are more uploaded icons now trying to do this but not one really works well.

thanks
