Deskscapes 8 wont apply background Windows 8

i Keep getting a "No suitable decoder found" error

i also cant set backgrounds period from my DeskScapes 8 configuration window even if they are not dream files.

any information on how to get DeskScapes 8 to work would be much appreciated
