And Windows 8 Takes Over XP on WinCustomize

While looking through some analytic data this morning I noticed that Windows 8 has finally surpassed Windows XP being used by people who visit WinCustomize.

Windows 7 is at the top by about double, but Windows 8 is actually getting a good hold and increasing.

Cool because I've been playing around with Win8 and its very not bad.

Aside from some quirks (mostly of which can be fixed by Stardock stuff), it's not bad at all.  Performance is great for me.

such a tease, and what might those numbers be?

is anyone still making anything specifically for xp anymore, I'm not aware of any (maybe some master WB). I deleted all my xp and vista blinds long ago.

I have been making some start8 buttons and will upload one for any blind I make. I would gladly attempt to blindly make other components for win8 but all my questions regarding SKS8 and the ability of a win7/sks7/wb7 only user to do so have been largely ignored. I'd like to help out more but without an ability to proof win8 graphics it's difficult, and I have no intention of upping to win8 in the near future.

Agreed! I have made Windows8 my default OS and have been there for a few days now. So far, all is great except this, which I wish could be fixed?

Of course, that's IE 10, not Windows8.

Thanks DP, but no, I do not have that update installed. I removed it back when that thread was posted.

I am still using win7 mostly. I do have all SD products on win 8. Guess it's time to load my office 2010 and other programs on win8 and work with it full time.

Something was bound to take of XP. Those computers are old and dying. People have no choice when getting a new computer to have win 8 installed.

Here is a question. With the windows 8 numbers rising what is adding to the numbers. Are tablets included? If so than the numbers will continue to grow fast.

One thing for sure that would be a factor in the increase of people visiting the site using Windows 8 would be to look at Start8, Decor8 and ModernMix so that they can get an idea as to how to get their desktop back to something that to them is more useable.

I'm sure there may be other factors that would also cause the XP visitors to decrease.

XP is still used by many businesses and has 30+% of the OS market. Win8 has something just over 7%, which is actually almost doubled since the last time I looked. I'd chalk it up to computer sales for the most part but that's just my thought.
