Start8 & Windows 8.1

I'm wondering if it will be necessary to remove Start8 before upgrading to Windows 8.1 and then reloading it, or will 8.1 upgrade with Start8 in place?

I believe you will be fine, but make sure to upgrade to Start8 1.16 or later before the upgrade.

On first boot you may go to the Windows 8 start screen, but for future boots you should be back to going to the desktop if that is what you had set in Start8.
