Installed 1.20 update, totally lost the Start button! Help!

I've had Start8 to get a Windows 7 look-and-feel since I got my Surface Pro. I just logged in, it said "Install Latest Update", I did, and now there is absolutely NO Start Button. I'm totally lost -- I can't even figure out how to shut down or reboot (I thought maybe a reboot would fix things). The Forum doesn't mention losing the Start Button -- what's going on?

Managed to fix it by finding the Start8 program in Program Files, running it, and re-configuring Start8.
