DeskScapes uses some DirectX 9 helper files.

Because you are using Windows 8 and Microsoft did not ship the additional DirectX 9 runtimes with the OS, you may need to add them.
Please use the link at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 to install them.

This will not downgrade your existing files.

I have since rolled back the GFX driver, to no avail.

It all worked the other day.

The only difference is I added your birthday Dream by Po.

Don't mean to highjack your thread Jim put I am having problems with some dreams also. My issue is the mpeg 2 error yet I have K-Lite mega codec pack installed which includes the mpeg 2 codec. Once your direct 9 issue is resoved if someone can help me with this I would appreciate it. The link in the error window did not help my situation. I downloaded the InstalledCodec.exe, ran it and only enabled the microsoft codecs but CarGuy1's Another Earth Dream II would still not run. Also my DeskScapes is installed properly.

No problem,Ken.

I assume you are on Windows 8?

It also looks like you're running an older version of DeskScapes....may be the trouble?

Jim I probably should have stated that I am using Windows 7. Will the new version work on 7 and do you think that will solve my problem with the mpeg 2 error? I thought it was just a codec problem but like I said I have an mpeg 2 codec installed.

I have fixed my problem by rolling back to three drivers back on the nVidia graphics drivers.

Yes, Ken, the newest version on DeskScapes is what I run on both 7 and 8. May or may not fix your problem. If you are 64 bit, be sure to have 64 bit codecs installed.

Well, I'd agree with that, but guess what the first question usually is on these things when you contact support?

"Are your drivers up to date?"    X|

What's a redneck to do?    o_O       :P

I have been having an occaisional artifact from a menu, etc, left on my desktop lately, you know, one of those that require at least a log off/log on to get rid of, so I thought a gfx driver update might be good.   Nope.
