Late game lag fixed?

So, I played sins alot in the past, and i loved it, but the day came when mid/late game lag pissed me off and made me quit. I have a powerful computer, but the game always went into slideshowmode with 10fps when the game started to get interesting.

I remember looking into this, cause the problem persisted even when I got a new computer, and I found a forum post saying everyone had this problem and it was related to bad code or something.

I really wanna get back into this game, but I will only do it if the fps issue is fixed, anyone know if it is?

Sins of a Solar Empire code base dates back to arround 2006.

The game engine was designed with

32 Bit
Single CPU core
Windows XP

in mind.

And while there have been significant improvements in certain areas, you still will reach the point where the single CPU core used by Sins of a Solar Empire cannot handle all the stuff going on anymore and so the game becomes slower.

You can have a 4 Ghz Oktacore with 32 GB of RAM.... it doesnt matter. Because all that will be used by Sins is:

1 CPU Core
2 GB of RAM (using Windows)

A 64 Bit multi core rewrite has been on the communtiy wishlist for years. Unfortunatly it is too much work to justify it for anything but Sins 2.
