OK...a question then: Is it policy to try to let people buy Wincusto subscription by showing the 404 to visitors, or is it the result of so many people having premium access? If it is a result, what are the actions that will be taken to make visitors being able to access Wincustomize?

I upload work to this site and want it to be seen by visitors too.

If a user is receiving a 404 error then it is a legitimate error/bug or the server is actually way too busy to process the page.

There also is code in place that if the the number of current visitors surpasses a specific number during peak times that non-paying visitors may receive periodic server busy errors in an effort to reduce the load on the website.

i just wanted to thank everybody, including the people that suspect a conspiracy behind a busy server and the people that have nothing better to do than getting upset about this.

one suggestion: in most message boards i have seen it is possible to have threads that remain "sticky" (always on top) in the board. how about creating a thread titled:

"Server busy?, 404? Your questions answered."

or something like that, explaining the whole situation?


from my experience: i am neither an Object Desktop nor a Wincustomize subscriber, but i rarely have troubles accessing the site. i am from Europe and probably don´t come here when there is rush hour in the US. so i guess trying to come here at a different time will help for most problems. i never got a "server busy" message, but on the other hand i do not download files from here very often.

I have been on this site on and off from day one when the site first opened , I never had any problem D/L any thing from here.. I too got OD for the 2nd time and I love it., That the server is busy at times means only one thing to me, It tells me that other love this site and that the admin's are going their job's.. Just my 2 cents ... Keep up the great work guys
