New notebooks crashed after loading Start8

This may be just a pure coincidence, but about three weeks ago I had two brand new notebook computers crash after I had loaded Start8 on them. The first one was a Sony Ultrabook and the second was a Samsung Ultrabook. Both were corei7 machines. In both cases the reason for the crash was a corrupted boot file. Has anyone else had this same experience?
