Version confusion and how to get the newest

Own several different copies of the game in various states

Hello all. I've a slightly confusing issue and I'd like some clarification.

The setup:

I've not been keeping the closest eye on Sins recent additions. Namely rebellion. This combined with the fact that I only scratch the RTS itch infrequently has me a bit confused with what new realeases in the Sins unvierse I need to be concerned with obtaining. I currently own the run of the mill, no expansions version of Sins of a Solar Empire(Bought shortly after release). I ALSO own Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity(Bought and played through Gamestops online service).

The Rub:

I need to know how to get what material I don't already own, and ONLY what material I don't already own. I'd absolutely LOVE to have Rebellion and it's new DLC, but I don't want to buy a version of the product that already includes something I own.

Anyone have some help for me? It's greatly appreciated.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion contains everything the previous versions did and more, plus it's standalone (so you don't need previous editions unless you want to play online with folks who only own Trinity).  Sins: Rebellion adds corvettes, titans, the new split factions, improved graphics, improved AI, improved performance, new techs, updated game balance, loads of new maps and a lot more.

Just wanted to be certain. There isn't any way to only buy the new content? If I buy Rebellion I'm getting the new content obviously, but I'm also getting what I've already paid for at least once. Is there no way to get ONLY what was added in Rebellion without paying more for what I have already? If that's true its not exactly earth-shattering, but I'd like to avoid kicking myself for buying the core game a 3rd time if I can.

Btw, thnx for the help :D

Nope, the game was heavily modified from Trinity, including the engine. You can get a discount by buying direct from Stardock, however.  If you check out the Purchase page it may have the info, or you can email [email protected].
