Error activating the productL cannot read SID.

Please help

So I just purchased this game in Steam, but after clicking "Play" I am getting "Stardock Account Registration" form.

I tried to use my Steam e-mail, tried to create and validate new Startdock account but in the end - always got this message. "Error activating product: cannot read SID". And then "Sucess" - damn it.

And then Notepad opens with the text like this:

Silent mode
Cannot read SID
Please ensure the serial number entered is associated with the email you used and attempt to activate again. Include this log file if contacting support.

Can anyone explain what to do with this crap? I have no serial number in Steam receipt (and its nowhere to put it even..)

We have seen this issue happen when the machine name has special characters or certain foreign language characters in it. If your machine name has either of those in it, try changing it so it does not and then try to activate again.
