Possibility to drag files to pinned applications in the start menu?

The old official start menu allowed one to drag files to applications that were pinned in the menu. I was wondering if this feature is on the to-do list since pinning applications to the start menu and then dragging files there make certain tasks just so much easier to do.

Currently when I try to drag files to pinned applications it just tries to pin the file.

If you drag the document to the icon part vs the label area the tooltip should change to open with and releasing the drag will then open the document in that application.
