Start8 End-User License Agreement?

Hello all,

Does anyone know where to find the license agreement? This should definitely be made available and accessible to all prior to purchasing this product.

Thanks,

Please see https://www.stardock.com/support/software_eula.aspx for Stardock's standard EULA

The Eula can also be seen if you install the trial.

Hi Zubaz,

I've already purchased and installed Start8. So, where is the EULA reference in the installed version? I apologize in advance if I missed it but I can't find it. Thanks for the link; however, that is just a general EULA (I believe) and it contains no specifics related to Start8. Now, with that said, I will ask you directly "What is the maximum install/reinstall limit for Start8 on a single PC?" Thank you in advance for answering this question.

You can find the EULA in the install directory.  Typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start8 or C:\Program Files\Stardock\Start8

We feel our policy allows for clients to activate the software a reasonable number of times over a specific time span to take into account testing, reformatting and new installations.

If you restore or reimage your PC frequently, be sure to include the OS and application as part of the backup.
--Back up the *.bin file for the Stardock product(s) you have either in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Registrations or the program directory.

If you reinstall the OS from scratch (like from a bundled restore CD), you will need to reactivate.

We do not publish maximum activation criteria.

Thank you for the pointer to the install directory and thank you for your honest answer; however, I would strongly disagree with your policies in that area. In fact, I would take my disagreement one step further and say that you are actually misleading customers by not giving a full public disclosure of the Start8 limitations in that area. However, on the bright side, your support team is always responsive and your product is well worth the price (even with the embedded undisclosed limitations).

Cheers and thank you!
