Text on Wallpapers

It seems that a lot of people are putting unnessary or standout text on their wallpapers. I wonder why? Sometimes it distracts from the wall.

typography often looks excellent on vector wallpapers or wallpapers done by illustrators. but as the wallpapers here seem to be 90% 3d i can see your point. on the other hand why complaining about something you get for free just search a little harder.

moshi- not complaining, just wondering why. It seems to distract from the wall. Besides, I download very few(mostly Ladywolfs).

If the text is an obvious distraction and degrades the wall it is generally rejected.
Text graphics, like other elements, can add to the 'style' of the wall....take Misery's 'Nijikon Fetchi' for example....[I know this one because of my recent 'STEP theme]. Without the text 'elements' the wall would be somewhat denuded.

The major 'no-no' is strident web addresses emblazonned across the guts of the wall.....or the use of a profusion of font styles...

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of text, either, for the most part. But I also respect the fact that authors can do what they want with their own creations.

My request for a certain wall "without the text" resulted in a new theme I've been working on..
I respect the fact that authors can do what they want...........but suggesting or requesting versions without text, ain't no crime. I know things like that don't bother me.
