Flickering icons with Fences 2 when using Folder Portals

I've had Fences 2 installed for a while (since the initial v2.0 release) and it has mostly been working fine with no crashes or anything like that. I am using Windows 8 Pro 64-bit along with Start8, Decor8 and WindowsFX 5.1. I have five fences for different groups of desktop icons and two folder portals for my games shortcuts.

I've noticed that after a certain length of time that the folder portals will flicker on and off as I mouse over it or attempt to double-click the icons to open them. The only way to open an icon when this happens is to right-click and select Open. If I click Refresh from the options in the top-left corner of the folder portal then the issue goes away and fixes itself. I can then double-click on icons to launch them and the window doesn't flicker anymore.

I guess this is only a minor issue but it only happens with folder portals and not with the other fences which contains standard desktop icons. I thought this issue would have been fixed in the latest update but it is still there. Either I'm alone in experiencing this issue or no-one else has yet reported it.

This can be corrected by adjusting the visual performance settings within Windows.

Try bringing up the following option from the Modern UI.

Make sure your options look similar to this:

If they do and you still have the issue, try setting to 'Adjust for best performance'.

I've tried every available option, in all combinations, and still there is flickering with icons in Fences 2.11 under Windows 7. Is there any plan to fix the problem, or would it be possible to request a refund for an inferior and/or defective product not ready for sale?
