Skincon 2003

Skincon 2003

Okay, in theory if we wanted to have some sort of show/party for the community, where would be the ideal place?

This past weekend, the Lockergnome people had "Gnomedex" which I thought was a pretty good idea. The only downside is that it was in Iowa which means it's somewhat expensive to fly there and out of the way for just about everyone (though Karmagirl went!).

So if you were in charge of it, where would you want to have it?

doesn't anybody want to do it in a virtual world??? Like in some online 3D place?

Just a thought, that way we could meet and interact a little more than we do now. Or have a real place (like NYC... hint, hint) and a virtual place for people who can't come.

I like ActiveWorlds, but that might not be the best location on line

That's a good idea joe to have a virtual meeting place for everyone that can't make the trip. No offense but NYC would be one of my last choices...

It would be great to have a get-together and meet everyone. Unfortunately, I think we'd find few of us could make a huge trip and the attendance would be mostly people in the area. My heart says no matter where it is I'll be there but my head knows it isn't that easy. A trip to the Midwest or the East Coast would be impossible for me right now. Maybe by next year things will be better.

If it happens, wherever it is, I'll make every effort I can to be there...

Toronto. All you Americans will definitely get your money's worth up here, since the Canadian dollar is so pathetic right now. You'll get a lot of 'bang for your buck' up here.

And Toronto is a wonderful city - lots of places to stay, lots of places to visit, lots of things to see and do.

And only 2.5 hours drive from my place. What could be better?

I saw a large Scout hut just up the road from me, I'm sure I could get a good deal on renting it.
