There are so many horribly ugly words that humans have devised to denegrate each other, please let's leave those out of this conversation.

I looked up cabbage. It is spelled c a b b a g e. I then looked for alternate spellings. There were none.

That's right motion, but dentis is generally spelled with more letters.

Fuzzy - When I was a kid we got pinched or slapped if we said "er", so I always figured it meant something really, really bad. So bad that it wasn't even in the dictionary.

Dead and gone. Like Magrathea. Or just waiting for the Universe to come to terms with the price of a custom built planet. Er.

Jafo,

I know of one word that a lot of people here seem to have a problem with. I don't think they hate it, they just don't seem to realize that it is homonymic with two others.

The word I refer to is 'bye' as in good-bye.
I've often seen it spelled 'buy', a word that means 'to purchase'.

There is another word, 'by', meaning 'next to or near' as well as at least 20 other meanings. However it also does not mean 'to purchase' but is often spelled that way.

By the way, I'm going out to buy some groceries so bye for now.
