Start8 Multi Monitor bugs

Hi,

I'm running the latest Start8 1.12

My Start8 setup is as follows:

Clicking the Windows Start button opens the Start8 Menu
Pressing the Windows key on my keyboard ( Windows key shows the Windows 8 menu )

Now when using DisplayFusion 5.1, the Start8 taskbar correctly displays on all three monitors. Mouse clicking the Start8 button on the two additional monitors opens Windows 8 Metro mode??. If I change ( Windows key shows the Windows 8 menu ) to ( Windows key shows the Start8 menu ) then this resolves the problem; however now I cannot press the Windows Key on my keyboard to open Metro.

It's like the Start8 button is mapped to the Windows Key action for additional monitors.

------------------------------------

Additionally, is it possible to have applications display on the monitor that you open them with? For example currently if I open an application on monitor 3 within the Start8 menu, it opens it on the primary monitor.

Thanks,

I think the problem you are reporting is a problem with how DisplayFusion works rather than Start8.

Start8 natively supports the Windows 8 additional taskbars and the start button would do whatever Start8 is configured to do.  With a DisplayFusion taskbar the start button is part of DisplayFusion itself rather than Start8 and it will send a hotkey message in order to open the menu which Start8 correctly identifies as the windows key being pressed and so performs the correct action for windows key being pressed.  Start8 has no way to know that the user was really pressing a button in DisplayFusion.

As a workaround you could set Start8 to show the Windows 8 menu only on a right windows key press, or only when holding down the windows key for half a second or more.

On the default monitor for an app, Start8 leaves this up to the OS and the application.  Some applications will automatically open on the monitor the mouse is currently on, others remember their last position, and others just ask the OS to position them as it sees fit.  On the final class of apps we can look into if we are able to make a small tweak to improve this, but on the other two it is very much under the control of the application itself.

Appreciate the response. I'll try the work around, Thanks.
