15 yard penalty on vimalkumar for excessive use of 'puke' icon!

Yes, Koasati, I agree. No one wants to see 30 animated puking smiley faces first thing in the morning ... or anytime.

As for WinAmp, everyone knows it whips the llamas ass, but this a bit excessive. The developers must have been feeling some AOL angst and needed an outlet.

I spy with my own eyes... someone who has no sense of humour.

Got to love these not quite sane developers.

To save us all some time, why don't you just tell us what the issue is, rather than pointing us the the DIALOG. I am curious, but am not willing to download to find out. I am more than satisfied with my 2.78c version. Is there something we all should know? Fill me in........................

1renegade...
winamp is a cool prog for mp3's
and some softwaares have funny kinda things (easter eggs)

but this was NOT an easter egg. the dialog was named 'ABOUT WINAMP' and the stoopid desc abt it.

this was more like a easter nuclear bomb rather than an egg!

...huh?

Yeah, the first thing I do is rip through an app to see what is in it, and yes, that dialog was in the resources... so? I mean if someone has found a way to spawn it, I might see a reason for outrage, but as far as i know there is no normal way to do it. I kind of assumed it was a poke in the eye to anyone who reversed engineered it. It was of such little importance to me I never bothered to see if there was any hidden way of making it appear...

so this begs the question, what's the big deal?

I think you'll find lots of proggies have similar messages....it's just a 'self-expression' thing.
Since it's not part of the 'public face' of the product I see no drama with it.....unlike the disgruntled coder in Sim City [Helicopter]...where the all-male conga line partying in the street was more like an X-rated version of the Gay Mardi Gras...

I think this is the norm actually. I have to agree with bakerstreet that this is a message to the reverse enginneering people wo want to find out how to do it (or rip thier work) so there is a specail message.

And maybe it is also a way to let out some steam for the Nullsoft crew who is probably getting it in the rear from AOL and the brand name yada yada blah blah stuff. Although it is kinda more than I think it should be, it is still hidden away where most people whouldn't see it or even know it is on there computer.

I have to admit I have a problem with trusting somebody by downloading thier software on my computer and they have all this cursing and swaring inside of it. I also have to admit its funny too, but they could have kept it to themselves.

Not to professional in my view of NullSoft (but very funny)

/me goes off to whip the lama's ass

As far as I know, Winamp is NOT Open Code, so why you feeling sh*tty for that little message? Supposedly, nobody should see it.
