I have to pay more for DS8?

All because I have Win8?

So I have to purchase/ pay fan "upgrade" fee to get DS working on my Win8 machine?...even though I paid for the previous DeskScapes not that long ago cause they couldn't update the setup manager?

I believe that it has always been policy at Stardock that one pays for a new version number.

 

If you buy version 3, you get free upgrades to versions 3.1, 3.5, etc.

I understand we offered free upgrades for any purchases since some point in October 2012.

Changes in Windows 8 prevented DeskScapes 3.5 from working on Windows 8.  It was not a setup manager (installler?) change.
