Connection timing out

I am currently running the free version (just paid for full online) of Multiplicity.  It ran fine yesterday (the day I installed it).  I powered down my secondary computer and left the primary running.  This morning after powering up secondary, I saw the pop-up message that the secondary had connected to the primary, BUT I can't get the mouse point to move over to control the secondary.  After waiting 10-15 seconds, control returns to the primary with a very quick pop-up message in the systray stating (i think - it goes so fast) that the connection has timed out.  Then immediately after another pop-up stating the connect to the secondary has been made.

Is this because I'm running the free version?  I didn't see an expiration date.
