Right Click on desktop Crashes Explorer.exe (Start8 desktop)

It would surprise me if Start8 were causing a crash like that.

You don't happen to have DeskScapes 3.5 installed do you?  One of the symptoms of that on Windows 8 is it crashes explorer on a right click on the desktop.  DeskScapes 8 is currently in beta which does support Windows 8.
