How can I change to "window" background for normal work area?

I am so green at the OD, so I am relying on all of the expects out there for some great advise. So far, you have all been wonderful and helped me enormously. I have gotten some great Window Blinds, but find that some color the window background (that's what I call it; the work area; i.e. background for word, excel, other programs). I find the white easiest to work with while crunching #'s all day. I have tried to change things in the advanced areas of WB, but must not be doing the right thing. WHen I use Desktop Architect, I could just change and apply the "Window" to the color I desired. I cannot seem to locate the same area that is affected in WB. Please advise.

I have similar problems in generally wanting a white background to work on. If I find a skin that I really like, I usually just change the background if it is not white. The easiest way to change the background color is with Skinstudio. Open up SkinStudio, select File/WindowBlinds/Open Current Skin. In the explorer section on the right side of skinstudio, click on Colours. On the left side, expand the Window tree. You should see an entry for Backgroud - Window. Click on it and you can then change the color to 255 255 255. Once done, choose file/save to save the change then choose File/WindowBlinds/Reload Current Skin to see the change to your skin.
Hope this helps

Actually, this brings up another question that's been driving me nut when it comes to tweaking colors. In the Display propeties dialog's Skin tab (Win2K) There's an Advanced button that allows you to change colors/fonts for a skin on the fly. I've gotten the title bar font to change, but I've never been able to change the background window color.

Thanks, Faramir! I tried your suggetion and it works just great! Little by little I will learn all the modules of OD. Any chance you may know how to make the background transparent on the IE bar so that Hotbar skins will show through rather than the colored bars? The XBox Xtreme XP theme does this. Aqua Jack (author) suggests that I look at his theme on the Skinstudio and manybe I can see how he did this. Sorry to say I cannot figure out what area this IE toolbar is in. Can you help!

hmmm...i haven't played with the ie toolbar transparency, but i would guess you would look at the toolbar section under the controls section in skinstudio. There are some transparency settings there for toolbar background. Look at XBox Xtreme theme and see what the settings are there and then try them on a different skin and see what happens
