Windows Start slowed down after installing Start8

Hello,

I have an issue on 2 PCs.

After installing Start8 on the first, the boot of Windows lasted over 10 Minutes. I checked the logs and found that

GPClient lasted over 10 Minutes to process CreateSession.

I was trying to fix for hours, than I decided to reinstall the System.

In the meantime I switched to another Windows 8 System (similar to first one, with SSD and boot time about 10-15 seconds)

I installed Start8 and now the System is also booting over 10 Minutes!!!

This must be a bug in Start8 v1.10, as this was the only Change on both Systems.

Please help to fix this

Thanks

Michi

This isn't anything thats been reported to us so far.

Does the second machine mention anything in the event log about what may be taking some time?

Is the delay happening in getting to the logon screen or after logging in?

A search online suggests GPCClient taking a long time is a common problem on Windows 7 machines, so any of the tips that apply to that may well apply to Windows 8 too.  For example http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-7/94811-winlogon-notification-subscriber-taking-foever.html

Are the machines on a domain, perhaps using the same user account?
