I updated my start8 to 1.1 and i cannot get to the login screen after the restart.
My computer is stick in 'please wait' for ever.
I can login using safemode, i checked event logs and there are a lot of dcom errors and lot of boot\system drivers that are not loading.
My computer was working on Perfect condition, your update has messed it up.
I am sorry you seem to be having a problem, but from the description of the problem it would sound likely that you have experienced some form of unrelated registry or file corruption which was then exposed when you rebooted after installing the update to Start8 (Start8 almost certainly requesting the reboot)
Start8 is not loaded until after the boot process drivers have loaded so if they are not loading fully it would point to a cause other than Start8. Start8 also has no link to dcom. This is assuming the event logs are from the original boot and not the safe mode boot as in safe mode many drivers will not load by design.
As you can boot into safe mode you are able to uninstall Start8 if that is causing the problem, but I suspect this will make no difference.
Assuming that is the case you should be able to use OS restore points to roll back to an earlier point in time which hopefully will not have the problem you are having now. At that point I would then run an error check on your drive to ensure the file system hasn't suffered some sort of corruption as one other explanation is existing files being corrupted when new files are written to the drive due to cross linking issues.
