icon problem, my .exe files icon

from WinCustomize Forums
i was right clickin word and office files,changing icons. When suddenly one .EXE got the the microsofr
excel icon. i tried something through iconpackager, but now all my .EXE files have a blank icon. Anf
hen i click on properties they have "type microsoft excel"

how do i change them back?

You could try double clicking "My Computer"

Tools / Folder Options... / File Types

Should show you what extensions are registered to what programs.

You can also open IconPackager, on the left side click on "Settings", click on "restore defaults" then click "rebuild Icon cache". That should work. You might have to reboot.

i did the bill_sawyer tip.

found the answer, and it was so easy.

just download EXEfix08.com from http://home.earthlink.net/~rmbox/Reticulated/Only_IE.html

run it, and reboot. and all is well
