Need some general artistic guidance!!

I'm able to create fairly basic artistic creations, and have a half decent set of art tools (3D app. Image creation/editing and basic drawing tools) but I require some guidance on methods used to create some of the effects seen on these pages.

Any offers please (or links, perhaps)

go to a search engine (like google) and type the name of your tool and "tutorials" and see what pops up.

also you can see how one application performs the action and then search your application to find something similar...like maybe the wording is a little different, but the application of the action is similar, like sunflare instead of lens flare, etc.

Try http://www.eyeball-design.com for tutorials on creating a few cool effects.

even if you learn nothing their animations are worth seeing.

Of course, 'lens flare' and 'cool effect' can only be used in a sentence together if there's a 'not' in between...
