Surelly lots of skinners, as me, are making their own skins for their own convenience... but, a skin are nothing without the downloads, comments and support of non-skinners that are downloading our skins . I like to speek about thecnics, programs, 'howtos', but all experiences of the users are likewise good, for me.
This is my opinion.
i also think that is a good performance on a site like this, the opportunity to speek with the authors. I like some films, some singers (for example Sheryll Crow ahhhhh)... and i don't finded a forum to speek with the film crew/actors... or with Sheryll Crow... ahhhhhh Run baby Run

I agree Carlitus. Good feedback positive or negitive is a useful tool. Everyone can learn from it.

T've been into skinning a little over a year and I'm hooked. One of these days I'm going to give skinning a try.
The only thing that can happen is that I stink at skinning.

oh wait, your talking about skinning aren't you

well I've been 'into' skinning for over a year now, many attempts to make my own skins many many (ermm all of them) have been put on hold (read: scrapped) However, I love using other peoples skins to make my PC the envy of my office.

and can I add this smiley to my last post

/me wonders how far off topic this thread is going to go

Personally, I've been in my skin for 36 years . I've been using the wonderful windows skins the people here have been producing for about 2 years now. Yet another big thank you to all of the artists!

I've been doing dashboard skins for myself and a few friends for about a year. It's hard to do something in a space not much bigger than a postage stamp, and make it look totally new and original (unless you're juni!). My skins and pieces thereof look much like things I find already in your library. After seeing the way Amstutz got jumped when he posted his excellent XPMA skin, I instantaneously lost interest in uploading. I would not object to being told that my artwork stinks, but I would be bothered by being accused of ripping if my skin resembles someone else's past work in some general fashion. I notice that the admins agreed and did not pull the XPMA skin, but they left the nasty, snide comment in place. Nevertheless I love this site, support it financially, and will continue to treasure the great artwork here! I will continue to skin for myself, 'cause I seem to be totally powerless to stop.

Just a little over a year when I stumbled onto Litestep. Kept downloading different shell replacements but they never really excited me, then I found out how to make my own

6 months ago I used to cringe whenever I booted up my computer. But thanks to the creative and very talented people on this site that is no longer the case. I've tried skinning but have given up and decided to pay my way. I look forward to new submissions and appreciate the effort entailed.
