what is it with winamp?

this is something that really irritates me.

at work most of the programmers run winamp all of the time. winamp is skinnable, and they all have different skins for it. this is considered quite normal and acceptable.

i dont really like winamp (i use coolplayer instead), but i do use windowblinds.

my basic problem is that nearly everyone complains about the fact that i use WB, and say that it is the reason my machine runs slowly. no account of the fact that it is running word * 6, excel, access, IE, outlook and 6 terminal emumators all at once.

remove word, excel and access and the problem goes away.

so how come skinning is so wonderful and acceptable when it is used on winamp (often with some visualisation running) but WB is considered so unacceptable???

next time someone tells you windowblinds sucks, respond with the witty reply "YOU suck!" Then punch them in the head.

With most of the skins, windowblinds takes up a very very small bit of memory, if you want to check it, depending on ure OS (win 2k or xp) you can go into the task manager and look at the processes and it will tell you how much its taking up... show them that, then laugh at their ignorance, then punch them in the head again
