You mean you just want to change the windows logo and the word "Start" on your start button?
If it's the case, I believe Windows XP is a little different than other versions of Windows because the green button you see is a graphic file, part of the Luna skin for Windows XP. You can't edit that skin because it's protected by Windows with a signature authentication protection.
There are hacks that allows you to overpass that protection, but maybe you should instead consider using Windowblinds, you'll be able to change that button and any other part of the Windows interface.

you won´t need WindowBlinds if you use the classic look. the latest version of TClock will do this and much more for free. http://homepage1.nifty.com/kazubon/

Yes, I use the classic look.

I try TClock but it doesn't work very well in XP.

I can change the text but not the icon.

Thanks, anyway!

OK, you are using the classic look...
Have you tried checking in Explorer.exe with a resource editor (such as ResHacker)?

There is a newer version of TClock arround that should work with XP (Haven't tested it myself, I am using Window Blinds). http://www.virtualplastic.net/
