Windows 8 Connectivity

Hi all,

Just upgraded my secondary to Windows 8.  The IP changed and the primary (also on Windows 8) wouldn't recognize it.

I have removed the original settings of the secondary on the primary.  Then on a subnet search on the "Add computer" feature, it no longer "sees" the secondary.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

It sounds like the firewall on your secondary is blocking Multiplicity.

The other possibility is Multiplicity is not running at all.  Is the Stardock Multiplicity service running?

It is running.

I did resolve the issue.

I had to turn home sharing on for my two Windows 8 Pro (64 bit) computers to be able to "see" each other.

It may be a less secure option, but they are all used on the same platform for the same purpose within the home office environment, so it's good to go.

Thanks!
