Multiplayer?

This game is supposed to replace a multiplayer game, but it's not muliplayer!  The beta was, according to my son...Any plans to add muliplayer option later?

They have said that it MIGHT come at a later point, but it is not promised. The pros and cons of this has been discussed a lot on these forums.

The short version:

 

Pro:

Its fun to play with friends

Cons:

Its expensive/time consuming to develop 

People play a lot less MP than you would think (according to frogboys statistics)

It might focus the game more on balance and less on fun

i don't think it's possible to focus too much on balance. a balanced game IS fun^.^

i agree that it can be time consuming though, as a compromise i'd like to just see hotseat multiplayer, if possible.

well ok, sometimes it does get a bit silly. like in dota/hon where you occasionally get entire updates to change 1 HP or reposition a single tree :p but we're not talkng about a competitive e-sport here, i doubt any level of balancing evffort on FE is going to do anything negative to the game. B

 

being more balanced means a more lively community ^.^ when there's no one easy win strategy, you get a lot more discussion of tips and tactics going on

No thx. No need for that. My english is far too bad to take part in a serious discussion. :S Its annoyings. I would love to take part in many of the discussions about FE. But there is always this damn language barrier....
