EzMail user question

Howdy,

I was over at dangeruss' site and came across a cool skin for something called EzMail. So I go to get the app to check it out, and install it, and for some reason, even though I got it to connect to my hotmail account, it doesn't bring up the little screen that allows me to rad the message. When I double click the message notice, it brings up the web browser and the hotmail account. When I click the Run Mail Client, it brings up my outlook. How do I get the little browser window to come up?

Big ups to dangeruss...another grand master of the realmz...

and yes, I rtfm, and the ffaq, and tried the HELP entry listed when you right-click the app...and still can't quite figure it out. If it has to do with the default browser, then what default browser is being used on those screen shots they display with the skins?

oh, and yes, I am going to be working on my first skin in over a year after I figure the simple looking app out

Ok, I screwed up. It is called EzPop...my bad...but I still can't get the second window to pop up and display my 4 emails waiting for me from hotmail...

there should be a little image (not the scrolling text), that indicates if you got new mail (sometimes animated). double-click on this image.

which skin do you use? then i can tell you exactly where to click.

for 16_thredz, an envelope image comes up, but when I double-click it, the browser decides to bring up www.hotmail.com with me all logged in, which would be ok, if I hadn't been expecting the secondary EzPop window to pop up instead, and show me my message...

strange, but maybe that´s a Hotmail problem as it does not use POP3. it´s protocol is proprietary and not documented.

And thanks Treetog. How's life been treating you? Been a while

...like an idiot, I also just realized this site does not support EzPop skins anyways. Crap. So I guess I get to go choose a different app to attempt to decently skin now

EzPop is great, Kinrik. I use it full time. Maybe if enough of us talk about how great it is, it could become a new category here at WinCustomize. It is very small (little bandwidth required) and very useful. It is the only skinnable app of its kind that I am aware of.

Powered by SkinBrowser!

It looks pretty cool. I saw something called Wbiff!, but the link from Russ' site led to a dead end. Wbiff! appears to run along the same theme as far as an app goes, and is apparently skinnable. But I am having trouble finding the app for download to see...

And I really like the EzPop app. It was small, efficient, and looked well done in my opinion

I also just read that it(Wbiff) is based off of xbiff for Unix...so maybe it wouldn't run on my windoze box anyways...

there is a codefork of Wbiff available here: http://www.liquidninja.com/projects/

works fine with Windows, not sure about hotmail (you shouldn´t use hotmail anyways )

oh, and i just found the original Wbiff: http://tucows.sympatico.ca/tucows/preview/194139.shtml

EzPop will only display emails in the small skinned window if they're pop emails, for web accouts such as hotmail, yahoo, lycos etc you have to open the web page to access the mails.

Cool. Thanks everyone. So if not yahoo or hotmail, what is recommended for a decent email program?
