Hey, hippygoth...was it? How the heck are you? I saw jafo, and doreen, and treetrog, and crae and a dozen or so others hanging out between here and skinz...but alas, skinz seems to have developed a bit of a limp, so to speak.

Plus Grimspoon seems exceptionally grumpy over there. I didn't know he even knew any four letter words...

Ever get a final opinion on the name of your site?

Sorry Glen, new to this site, so I haven't had a chance to peruse the goods from everyone yet.

I know BoXXi from a ways back, and we had discussed the suite he was working on, or had done...not sure which...about a year ago for a small app, if I recall correctly.

But I remember his hard drive crapped out and he lost a lot of work, and then skinz had a seizure, or something, so I dropped out of site for a while in this arena.

I'm sure your work is great, just ain't had a chance to check yet...

KINRIK!! Good to see you!!!! And you are absolutely correct, I DID make a few winnie the pooh skins, they were for QuickNotes, and I made four altogether, Tigger, Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore. (I still have them all if anyone wants them!) So where have you been? Skinz seems such a long time ago now, we had some good times there. Do you remember jsenn? She is an admin over at DeviantArt now, but unfortunately she doesn't comment on the walls much anymore, she's into the poetry now. I miss her comments, I really used to look forward to getting them.

You noticed that Hippy character is still around! (Hey Hipster!), he never changes. And there are still lots of people around that you will remember, like Doreen, Craeonics, Paxx, Jafo, Migellito, DavidK, MobiusCo, Treetog, Alexandrie, Transmutate, and many more.

I hope you stick around, this is the best site there is these days, there are some superb artists and skinners uploading here, and I'm sur you'll get back into the swing in no time.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Kinrik. But the Pooh skin I did for WB was the first WB skin I did. Though it oddly has fewer errors than the only other WB skin I've made, it could still certainly use some improvements. Just not from me anytime soon

Hey, ever notice you guys are on the wrong time? It says I posted at 11:27 and change...hell, it's just past 8:30 in the morning here in sunny southern Cali...you guys are all kinds of messed up, eh?

What is this "USER LEVEL" thing when I view my profile...just out of curiosity?

IE is messing me about, so this is off the top of my head:

level 4 - people who have a wincustomize subscription

level 3 - people who have purchased stardock things, like OD, or people who have been promoted for their good works

level 2 - not sure

level 1 - basic new user i think.

the definative answer is probably in the "about" section, but the about section is currently crashing IE on this machine >

...and I checked the "about" section...it mentions status-like things, but not in a numerical fashion. There was "exile", something else, "citizen", "apprentice", "journeyman", etc... but no numbering scheme I could interpret.

Oh well, I hope it doesn't mean "one step above an exile"...

here's my first dumb question for my new home...how the heck do you make your own smiley-type faces for this place, like BoXXi's box-smiley?

that seems to require one or more of:
a) owning the site
being an admin
c) the gods smiled upon you, due to many devoted years of service to the greater good

if you get really desperate you could try requesting one from alexandrie, who seems to be the mistress of special icons.

well, there is good news and then there is bad news

your profile currently lists you as a Citizen which is effectively only one step above an exile. but on the plus side, that is where all accounts start, so you arent being victimized. also you are on the right track (having de-lurked), and people seem to know you, so all is good

it isnt just you. for most of today the site has been up and down a lot for me. frogboy has already said the bandwidth is maxed out again, which is almost certinally the cause.

heh...well heck.

are you related to crae by any chance? probably you two have just been hanging around the same places for a while now. it wouldnt be the first time we have had to go crae hunting to get him to stop sucking up all the bandwidth. anyone would think we didnt feed him

yes, there are continual references to crae's art by Doreen, but i havent seen any examples of it yet. but then, i am hardly one to talk. i just need to find time to learn how to use gimp, then i can start putting my ideas to pixels.

so, it is true, crae really is dangerious, for he rubs off on people

they all said dont go down into the basement (where crae sometimes lives), but i never was good at controling my curiosity.

and the gimp was a pain for me to try getting used to...so I bought PSP...which I didn't really like, so then I got Fireworks MX, since it integrates with the web stuff I am trying to learn...

Haven't used Fireworks yet, so there is another learning curve.

They all seem to be a pain after learning Photo Shop at my last job. I really got used to the gui...
