A big "Thank you!" to the people who braved the storm to save others.

Many, many lives saved because of these folks.

 

Not to belabor the point... but please join me in saying a big thank you to these folks: Police, Fire and Rescue, the Coast Guard, and to those nurses and doctors who evacuated NYU Hospital and transferred all those patients, large and small to safer places and stayed with them to help the staff in the other hospitals. Also a "thank you" to all who checked up on their neighbors, especially the elderly, infirmed and disabled... for all you did as well.

My sister live outside of Salisbury, MD.  She is a Red Cross volunteer. She was manning 

the phones  yesterday.   

Her cat sneaked out the front door, when my sister was going out. She said her cat froze, then

hightailed it back inside.  Smart cat!
