Plugins and new objects

I've been trying to make a new object that uses a plugin but I can't seem to get it to work. On my current theme there are object that have an option for plugin on the appearance tab. How do I get my objects to get this option?

Hold down Ctrl as you create it.

Hold down Ctrl as you create it. This forces DesktopX to use an old style plugin. Wherever possible use newer ones as they are more reliable with the latest version of DesktopX.
