Disfunctional Litestep Themes

Well...that's quite a complex question.
There are so many different permutations of LiteSTEP [it's been around in many versions for many years], and as a SHELL, not a 'simple' proggy like WinAMP can and does work 'differently' depending on what OS version you use.
Put simply.

There are too many reasons to list.....unless you provide us with very much more info on what you downloaded, and what OS, how you managed shell switching from Explorer...lots of things...

i guess you have used Omar´s LiteStep Installer to install LiteStep. this version of LiteStep supports a directory/theme format called OTS.

have a look at a theme´s description before you download it, it is usually stated when it´s compatible with that standard (most newer themes are).

of course you can get older themes running as well, but that needs some tweaking from your side. i suggest to only use OTS compatible themes first and then, after you get used to LiteStep and read/understood the documentation, get into the harder stuff.

i think most of Pharoe´s themes are OTS compatible, they are pretty nice and most times you will also find a matching WindowBlinds skin by Treetog, so what more can you want

I uninstalled it cause of the glitches, but i run XP Pro, and i followed the installastion instructions ,so i will try what you said.

If you run ShellON.exe as a shell manager you'll have a lot more luck with LiteSTEP in XP than relying on some 'Installer', as there is no 'real' installation necessary for LiteSTEP.exe, provided you can create the appropriate directories and then let ShellON handle the registry settings, and with its built-in crash-recovery, shellON can get you back into Explorer quite easily, again with no 'need' for uninstalling....
