I did try a variety of things yesterday but have retried today. I have tried Firefox, IE and Safari. On a different internet PC I have tried Firefox and Chrome. All behave exactly as I described in the last post, with the exception of Safari which takes me to a page stating "There was a problem loading the page, please try again later.".
My previous cut and pasting was a PDF print of the downloads page showing the serial number, making sure there are no leading or trailing spaces or other characters, but this time I have tried manually typing the serial number as suggested and checked carefully that it is exactly as it should be (watching out for 0/O characters etc).
I am trying to activate as follows:
Welcome to Fences dialog shown on startup:
Clicked [Unlock previous purchase]
Activate purchased features dialog shows:
Email: <left blank>
Password: <left blank>
Clicked [I have serial number] button instead
Stardock Account Registration dialog shows:
Entered details for
Stardock account email: <email used to purchase and also same address for Stardock account login>
Password: <stardock account password>
Serial number: typed as shown on account downloads page
Clicked [Register]
Registration failed as expected
Offline activation dialog shows:
Firstname: first name of person who made purchase entered
Lastname: last name of person who made purchase entered
Email: email address used on purchase and for stardock account
Serial number: typed as shown on account downloads page
Activation file generated as stated.
Am I filling anything in wrong?
Should I also be filling in the email and password on the very first screen even though I am not going to try and login/activate from this screen?
Does the serial number need the - characters in it or not? (I am including these, also entering it all in upper case).
Also if I use my existing Fences settings from v1, v2 crashes whenever I try to right click the desktop and go to configure Fences. I realise this is a separate issue and it would be easier to recreate my Fences, but if it would help should I be sending in log files of this crash somehow?
Thanks for all the help so far.
